Pulse oximetry is a source for racial bias in the intensive care unit which is overseen by regulatory bodies and industry. The International Standards Organization (ISO 80602) will be updating the standards for regulatory approval in October 2024. This will have implications for how we interpret and use future pulse oximeter devices.

The speaker, a member of the standards committee, will

4) Discuss the path forward for health equity related to the pulse oximeter
