This session will delve into the complexities of fever of unknown origin (FUO) in critically ill patients, focusing on practical management guidelines endorsed by SCCM and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, facilitating more precise and effective clinical decision-making. Speakers will explore newer radiographic evaluation modalities, such as FDG-PET and advanced CT, by which clinicians can enhance diagnostic accuracy and expedite targeted interventions. Speakers will highlight the pivotal role of advanced plasma biomarkers in early sepsis detection among critically ill patients with FUO. Attendees will learn how to leverage these cutting-edge biomarker technologies for timely identification of sepsis, facilitating prompt initiation of interventions and improving patient outcomes.
