SCCM’s Discovery Data Science Campaign and the NIH Bridge2AI program join forces in their shared vision to harness the power of data science and AI for critical care. This session will provide the rationale, framework, tools, and regulatory pathway to integrate cutting-edge technologies into clinical and research practice. Speakers will explore: 1) critical care scenarios that benefit from data science and AI strategies: 2) how traditional randomized control trials can incorporate data science and AI to improve study design; 3) real-world journeys of healthcare sites through challenges and solutions for harnessing the electronic health record, waveform imaging, and social determinants of health data; 4) the unique nuances of adult, pediatric, and subspecialty critical care; and 5) the changing regulatory landscape surrounding AI applications in critical care and the pathways to gaining approval. Attendees will gain insights into the latest advancements and learn how to apply the strategies developed by Discovery’s Data Science Campaign and the NIH Bridge2AI program, including open-source tools and common data elements.
