Only on the tip of discovery, emerging evidence supports the distinctive responses of a host to acute kidney injury based on sex. In this session, we will discuss the biologic basis and epidemiologic data supporting the sex-gap for the AKI syndrome - and how pediatric providers can lead the way in new approaches to AKI management - including the advent of new trial design.
