Leopoldo C. Cancio, MD, FCCM, is director of the U.S. Army Burn Center at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dr. Cancio’s research is focused on critical care of burn patients and those with similar injuries and illnesses, with the goal of reducing the incidence of post-burn acute lung injury. He will discuss progress being made in burn shock resuscitation.

  • Explain common lethal pitfalls in burn resuscitation and how to avoid them
  • Define how decision support and plasma-based resuscitation are changing practice
