Recently there have been reports from across the country of cases of severe influenza encephalitis A, including acute necrotizing encephalitis, with rapid onset and death. Some sites have reported success with aggressive early management. Since there is some genetic predisposition, genetic testing and treatment of susceptible siblings at risk are important. Panelists will highlight their cases and approach to management and answer questions from attendees.
