Sunkaru Touray, MD, FCCP, is a Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician currently serving as the Program Medical Director at Sound Physicians/St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Texas. He has significant experience in clinical practice and hospital leadership, with a focus on addressing healthcare disparities in underserved communities.
Dr. Touray is also the founder of the Permian Health Lung Institute, a healthcare company he established to launch the Clean Air Initiative in The Gambia. This groundbreaking program created a nationwide network of low-cost air sensors and reference monitoring stations. Its goal is to monitor and reduce the harmful effects of air pollution, thereby enhancing lung health for the Gambian population.
Dr. Touray is passionate about promoting healthcare equity and utilizes technological and medical advancements to improve access to critical care. Through Permian Health, he envisions an integrated approach that combines state-of-the-art clinical services, comprehensive medical education, and innovative research to develop sustainable healthcare solutions in his native Gambia.
