Professor Kristen Gibbons is a Biostatistician, Clinical Triallist and Mid-Career Researcher who has received >$15M category 1 clinical trial funding and is an Australian National Health and Medical Research Council Emerging Leadership Fellow. Kristen is the Lead of the Children's Intensive Care Research Program at The University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia, a multidisciplinary group is dedicated to improving outcomes for critically ill children through cutting-edge research and collaborative partnerships. Kristen is the Vice-Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society Paediatric Study Group, and Chair of the Data Science Working Group. Kristen’s research interests include innovative trial design, consent practices for intensive care research, research capacity building locally and internationally, and machine learning to underpin clinical decision-support tools.
