Dr. Hamarshi completed his medical education at Al-Quds Medical School in East Jerusalem. In 2006 he moved to the U.S. to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Shortly after that, he completed his fellowships in geriatrics medicine at Northwestern University and critical care medicine at the University of Missouri Kansas City “UMKC," respectively. Currently, he is the program director of critical care fellowship and is an associate professor at UMKC. Dr. Hamarshi is the founder, current board chairman, and ex president of the Palestinian American Medical Association, PAMA, a medical charoty that is heavily involved in promoting healthcare in Palestine. Areas of expertise include global crotical care including telecritical care and critical care in war zones, glycemic conteol in the ICU, DKA, HHS, use of computer algorythms for glycemic comtrol, HIT and Delirium
