Dr Kim Lewis is an Assistant Professor at McMaster University in Canada. She is an Adult Critical Care Consultant at St Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. She is also a clinical epidemiologist. Her main interest in sedtaion and runs the international, multi-centred trial "Non-invasive ventilation and dexmedetomidine in critically ill adults", examining if dexmedtomidine versus placebo reduces the risk of NIV failure. She is also lead methodologist for the 2025 "Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Pain, Agitation/Sedation, Delirium, Immobility, and Sleep Disruption in Adult Patients in the ICU" update.
