Kelley Elahi MSE, BSN, RN, CPN is the Associate Director of the Innovation Portfolio at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. In this role, Kelley provides operational and strategic leadership to advance innovations originating from both Lurie Children’s and the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute. She also serves as a bedside nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Lurie Children’s. Kelley began her career at Medical Technology Transfer and Services in Vietnam, designing neonatal healthcare equipment and training doctors and nurses throughout Southeast Asia on the equipment’s use. She then served as the Director of Technology Development at Rice University’s Institute for Global Health, where she led the development of multiple maternal and pediatric global health technologies. Inspired to provide hands-on patient care and to build bridges between the technological and clinical sides of healthcare, Kelley pursued a nursing degree. She has been working as an RN at Lurie Children’s since 2018 and has played a key role in the establishment and growth of the hospital’s innovation program since 2020. Kelley holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering (BSE, University of Michigan), Biomedical Engineering (MSE, University of Michigan), and Nursing (BSN, Duke University).
