Dr. Jumpei Tsukuda is a lecturer in the Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at St. Marianna University School of Medicine. He specializes in emergency medicine, critical care, and general internal medicine.
Dr. Tsukuda graduated from Osaka University in 2008. Following his graduation, he underwent advanced training in critical care and emergency medicine at leading institutions in Japan. From 2019 to 2022, he further honed his expertise in critical care research during his tenure at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) in the United States, where he worked closely with renowned experts such as Dr. Gadif F. Gaieski.
Dr. Tsukuda’s research interests focus on cardiac arrest (both in-hospital and out-of-hospital), mechanical ventilation strategies, and the application of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in critical care settings. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributing significantly to the fields of resuscitation science and mechanical circulatory support.
Since 2022, Dr. Tsukuda has served as the Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Marianna University School of Medicine. His current work involves advancing protocols for the management of cardiac arrest patients and improving outcomes through innovative therapies and collaborative research.
