Carrie Sona RN, MSN, CCRN, CCNS, ACNS-BC, FCCM has been a critical care nurse since 1987 and a Clinical Nurse Soecialist in the Surgical Burn Trauma ICU at Barnes Jewish Hospital since 2000. The focus of her work has been to improve patient outcomes and improve nursing practice for bedside nurses. Her projects have focused on early mobility, liberation from the ventilator, and in the prevention of hospital acquired conditions such as pressure injuries, CLABSI, and CAUTI. She serves on the hospital ethics committee and works to improve end of life communication and care. Carrie was honored to be awarded the Grenvik Family Award for Ethics in 2024.
