Angela Shapshak, MD

Angela Hays Shapshak, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has a special interest in resident education in addition to her clinic focus on neurological critical care and vascular neurology. Dr. Hays Shapshak serves as the Director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship program as well as the Associate Director of the Neurology Residency Program. Over the past decade, she has served in several leadership roles at local and national levels. Currently, she is the Chair of the Fellowship Directors Section of the Neurocritical Care Society, as well as the founding chair of the Neurocritical Care Training Committee. She also serves as the neurocritical care specialty representative to the board of directors for the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties.
