My name is Shani Mc Lean. I graduated magna cum laude in 2016 from St. George's University with a Doctor of Medicine Degree and am currently affiliated with the One Brooklyn Health System.
I am a proud Afro-Caribbean physician practicing in the vibrant and resilient borough of Brooklyn, New York. Throughout my years of training, I have challenged myself to be a dedicated and empathetic physician with a deep commitment to providing compassionate and expert medical care.
My medical journey has been enriched by my ability to train in various international settings, including the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These experiences, combined with my background in public health, have equipped me with a global perspective on health challenges and ignited a desire to improve access to quality care for underserved populations. My clinical practice is defined by empathy, diligence, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, ensuring that every patient, especially those marginalized or overlooked, receives the best possible care.
I am a 2024 graduate of the Internal Medicine residency program at One Brooklyn Health’s Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, a safety-net hospital serving 1.2 million residents in East Brooklyn. This experience provided invaluable exposure to managing severe illnesses in a resource-limited community and fueled my enthusiasm for critical care medicine. I am particularly passionate about the integration of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) as a transformative tool to empower clinicians to make timely and safe decisions, even in resource-depleted settings. My ultimate goal is to combine my public health proficiency with my clinical acumen to provide expert critical care in any global setting, particularly underserved communities.
