Dr. Beulah Augustin, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Critical Care Medicine, at the University of Florida. She also holds an affiliate faculty position in the Division of Global Health. Dr. Augustin graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2018 and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Orlando Health in 2021. She pursued a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Florida, graduating in 2023, before joining the faculty.
Dr. Augustin is an integral member of the Emergency Resuscitation Service, where she performs ECMO cannulation and oversees the management of inpatient ECMO cases. She is a recipient of the prestigious Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials: Career Development Award (Winn CDA). Through this grant, she serves as an investigator in a multicenter clinical trial evaluating the use of Pterygopalatine Fossa (PPF) Block as an opioid-sparing treatment for acute headache in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, with a strong emphasis on promoting diversity and equity in patient recruitment.
Dr. Augustin’s primary research focuses on sepsis sub-phenotyping using a multiomic approach, with the goal of improving outcomes for critically ill patients. She is dedicated to advancing healthcare equity and innovation through her clinical and research endeavors.
