Dr. Morris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and the Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he serves as Program Director for the fellowship in neurocritical care, the Chair of the Resuscitation Committee, and the Associate Director of the Shock Trauma Simulation Center. Dr. Morris holds a strong interest in healthcare education innovation. He has received comprehensive and advanced training in healthcare simulation from the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) in Boston, MA. He has developed presentations, assessment material, and interactive computer-based case simulations for the Neurocritical Care Society's Emergency Neurological Life Support course. He was granted the Faculty Innovation in Education Award from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which has led to several publications. As the co-primary investigator on an innovation grant from the University of Maryland Medical Center, he developed Distress!, an app-based game that trains nurses how to identify subtle signs of respiratory compromise and empowers them to navigate interprofessional conflict to ensure that their patient receives the right care at the right time. Distress! won a gold medal at the International Serious Play Awards in 2023.
