Dr. Sandra Rabat is a PGY-2 Internal Medicine Resident Physician at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, PA. She serves as the Resident Leader for Advocacy where she engages with policymakers to raise awareness about critical healthcare issues, supports efforts to build a culture of physician leadership in public health advocacy and health workforce development, and champions the needs of her patients and community. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego and a medical degree at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. She is passionate about primary care, cardiovascular disease prevention, medical education, and increasing access to care in underserved communities. Upon completion of her residency, she wishes to pursue a career in primary care as a general internist in her home-state of Pennsylvania. She is presenting an interesting case that she encountered as part of her ICU training in her first year of residency. Outside of medicine, Dr. Rabat enjoys gardening, hiking, shooting analog photography, and traveling.
