Heidi Lindroth is an agile, clinician-nurse scientist with expertise in neuroscience, aging research, and Artificial Intelligence. She is a nurse scientist at Mayo Clinic. Her vision is a world without delirium. She aims to achieve this vision by co-designing digital solutions with patients, families, and the healthcare team to use evidence to stop delirium in clinical care. Dr. Lindroth’s trailblazing work in delirium severity has led to the ability to predict, measure, and track the trajectory of delirium over time. Dr. Lindroth serves on the American Delirium Society Board of Directors and is the current co-Chief Innovation Officer for the society. She co-leads a global delirium research team that conducts research and works to raise global awareness on delirium on World Delirium Awareness Day. Her PhD is from University of Wisconsin-Madison and she completed her T32 postdoctoral fellowship and graduate certificate in agile science at Indiana University. Dr. Lindroth’s NIH-funded study (1K23AG076662-03) aims to automate delirium severity measurement in the intensive care unit using AI and machine learning.
