Jessica Latona, MD is a highly skilled and compassionate Acute Care Surgeon with over 5 years of experience in trauma care, emergency general surgery, and critical care management. She currently practices at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA, and Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA.
After completing her medical degree at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dr. Latona went on to complete rigorous residency training in general surgery at Thomas Jefferson University where she developed a strong foundation in complex surgical techniques. Following residency, she pursued a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care gaining advanced knowledge in management of critically ill patients and working with multidisciplinary teams in high-stakes environments. Dr. Latona is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is an active member of SCCM and EAST.
She has a particular interest in the use of ultrasound in critical care medicine and ensuring her patients have equitable access to minimally invasive surgical techniques. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Latona is committed to continuing medical knowledge through education and mentoring residents and fellows.
When not at work, she looks forward to spending time with her two dogs Mac and Nina. To decompress from her demanding profession, she loves sports (football and baseball – Go Phillies!), traveling to new cities and exploring the outdoors, attending concerts and ballets. She is a self proclaimed Swiftie and foodie.
