Matthew Dettmer, MD, MFA is a critical care physician at the Cleveland Clinic Medical Intensive Care Unit. He is the co-medical director of the Sepsis Emergency Response Team, a service led by Advanced Practice Providers that is dedicated to identification and management of regular nursing floor patients with early signs of sepsis. His research interests include improved detection of patients with hospital-onset sepsis. He has recently completed a Master of Fine Arts degree, and has used this additional training to build narrative medicine curricula for post-graduate trainees.
