Jordan Lee Cramer. MD. Anesthesia Critical Care Fellow. Wellstar: Medical College of Georgia
Dr. Cramer's training includes nursing, emergency medicine, and critical care. His career began as a patient care technician, followed by a career in nursing in the emergency department. Dr. Cramer developed a strong foundation in bedside medicine before completing an emergency medicine residency, where he had the opportunity to serve as Chief Resident. This multifaceted experience informs his approach to critical care, with a focus on optimizing resuscitation strategies, mechanical ventilation, and mechanical circulatory support.
Currently, Dr. Cramer specializes in critical care medicine with a particular interest in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). His research and clinical work aim to contribute to the identification of patients who can benefit from ECMO, as well as to evaluate and improve treatment strategies and management of complications that arise with ECMO.
Dr. Cramer is actively involved in medical education, research, and medical simulation training. At the Society of Critical Care Conference, he will present on ECMO in Acute Chest Syndrome, exploring its indications, challenges, and outcomes in critically ill patients.
