Dr. Margot Hillyer, MD, is a Pediatric Critical Care Fellow at Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Hillyer is a board-certified pediatrician with additional expertise in quality improvement and patient safety, holding a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Dr. Hillyer's research focuses on healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial stewardship, and improving care processes in the pediatric critical care setting. Her notable projects include developing targeted strategies to reduce broad-spectrum antibiotic use in both the cardiac and pediatric intensive care units, ensuring those strategies are implemented safely, and finding ways to decrease waste and improve healthcare sustainability.
