Ryan Hakimi, DO, MS, NVS, RPNI, CPB, FNCS, FCCM, FAAN is a Neurointensivist and the Director of TCD Services at Prisma Health-Upstateās Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, the teaching hospital of the University of South Carolina-Greenville School of Medicine where he serves as a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Neurology Division). He is the past founding Neuro ICU Medical Director at Prisma Health and at the University of Oklahoma. He was also on faculty at the Oklahoma State University where he helped create the Neurology curriculum for Osteopathic Medical Students.
He was a United States Department of Energy Applied Health Physics Fellow, graduated from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM), and completed his medicine internship and neurology residency at MSUCOM-Botsford Hospital. He completed a fellowship in neurocritical care and stroke at Duke University Medical Center and is the first DO neurointensivist.
He is board certified in Neurology, Neurocritical Care, Neurosonology (RPNI), as a Neurovascular Specialist (NVS), and as a Certified Professional Biller (CPB). He has nearly 40 peer-reviewed publications and has served as an educator on a national and international level. He holds the Fellow designation from NCS, SCCM, and AAN. He is the current President of the American Society of Neuroimaging and is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Neurocritical Care Society,
