Nationwide Children's Hospital
Emily P. Ernest, MD, is currently a Chief Resident at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH. She will begin a PCCM Fellowship at Children's Hospital Colorado in July 2025. Originally from West Virginia, she earned both her BS in Exercise Physiology and MD from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV. Dr. Ernest has a strong research background and was awarded the SCCM Star Research Award last year alongside Dr. Jennifer Muszynski for their work on neutrophil phagocytosis in children with septic shock. This year, she is excited to present her research with Dr. Katherine Bline on the role of myeloid-derived tumor suppressor cells in children with severe lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI). She plans to pursue a career in clinically translatable research and/or medical education. She is thrilled to learn and connect with colleagues at Congress this year!
