Research Assistant Professor
Department of Critical Care Medicine, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh
I am a statistician and faculty member at University of Pittsburgh's Department of Critical Care medicine, specializing in areas such as clinical trials and precision medicine. My methodological focus is applying machine learning methods to the identification and validation of responders to intervention. I have also contributed to the design of several in-progress clinical trials, and have published on the advantages of Bayesian statistical designs in sepsis trials. I have published on statistical methodology in Statistics in Medicine and Elsevier’s Handbook on Statistics. My work has been presented at national statistical conferences as well as clinical audiences both at the University of Pittsburgh and other universities, and have several peer-reviewed manuscripts applying these methods to acutely ill patients with sepsis and COVID-19.
