Dr. Bruno grew up in suburban Massachusetts, and worked as an ED nursing assistant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, prior to attending medical school at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He went on to complete an emergency medicine residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA; as well as an Anesthesia Critical Care and Neurocritical care fellowships at UF. He is board certified in emergency medicine, critical care medicine, and neurocritical care medicine. He is an assistant professor in the department of emergency medicine, division of critical care medicine, and an affiliate assistant professor for the department of neurology at University of Florida. His career interests include resuscitation medicine, cardiac arrest, neuropalliative care, brain resuscitation and neuroprognostication, and all things resuscitative ECMO, notably including ECPR, mechanical support in cardiogenic shock, neurophysiology of VA ECMO, and prevention of ECMO related complications. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, biking as well as snowboarding and skiing in the winter.
