Dr. Vishank A. Shah is an Assistant Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is in the care of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients and serves as an attending neurointensivist in the Johns Hopkins and Bayview Medical Center neurocritical care unit. He serves as the director of resident education for neurocritical care and the medical director fo the neurointermediate care unit. Dr. Shah’s research is focused on cerebral autoregulation impairment and its applications in management of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients, variability in care practices and resource allocation in subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as long term functional outcomes in subarachnoid, intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage with particular interest in impact of medical complications and hospital events on long-term outcomes in these patients.
