Christine Koshel DO, FAAP is a Pediatric Intensivist at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Koshel was raised in New Jersey and received her undergraduate degrees in biology and philosophy from the University of Scranton in PA. She obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, after which, she did an osteopathic traditional rotating internship. It was during her internship that she developed an interest in critical care. She went on to complete her pediatric residency and was Chief Resident at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in NJ. Dr. Koshel completed her fellowship in pediatric critical care at the University at Buffalo in NY before joining Nemours. Dr. Koshel has presented several abstracts at national conferences, and has published her research. Her primary research interests are coagulopathy in critical illness and transfusion medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Other professional interests include teaching and mentoring residents and medical students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing tennis, riding her bike, and cooking.
