Lauren Brown is a third year Pediatric Critical Care Fellow at UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Her interests include pediatric ECMO and ECMO anticoagulation, quality improvement and simulation education. She completed her pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center where she was a scholar in the Duke Pediatric Research Scholars Program. Her quality improvement work during residency focused on optimizing the workflow of PICU to Floor transfers and standardizing the care of febrile infants as part of a multi-center quality improvement collaborative. She served as chair of the Pediatric Residency Safety Council and was also member of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Patient Safety Quality Council and the GME Clinical Learning Environment Review Committee. She recently completed a 12-month long longitudual scholars program where she along with Ursula Adams, a surgery resident, implemented a standardized anticoagulation protocol using Bivalirudin for pediatric ECMO patients.
