April Slamowitz, MD is a current third year pediatric critical care fellow at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New York. She did her residency training at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC after completing her Bachelors of Science at Stony Brook University. Dr. Slamowitz's research passions include the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and medical education. Currently, Dr. Slamowitz is working on a research project using POCUS to help predict post-extubation stridor in the PICU and to detect vocal fold motion impairment in neonates in the cardiac intensive care unit.
