Dr. Nabihah Kabir is a Neurology Chief Resident physician at University of Illinois in Chicago with a passion for neurocritical care and medical education. Although born in New York, she spend most her childhood in Toronto, Canada, where she completed her undergraduate studies in Honours Life Science, culminating in a thesis focused on neutralizing the neurotoxic effects of cone snail venom for potential pain management applications.
After graduating from Windsor University School of Medicine, Dr. Kabir pursued neurology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she currently serves as Chief Resident. She has been accepted into UIC's Neurocritical Care fellowship program, where she plans to further her expertise in managing complex neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, chronic subdural hematomas, and encephalitis.
Dr. Kabir's research interests center on optimizing therapeutic hypothermia protocols for cardiac arrest patients. She aspires to become a clinical educator and participate in international medical missions. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, home decorating, and outdoor activities.
