Danielle Maholtz, DO is a clinician-investigator at Akron Children's Hospital dedicated to improving inequities associated with poor health outcomes by promoting a culture of health equity within the healthcare system. She seeks to understand the impact of health disparities on a variety of patient conditions, and in a multitude of clinical settings, to develop a structure of healthcare delivery incorporating social needs preventative interventions as part of holistic
patient care. In her research, she focus on social and environmental factors that promote optimal health forchildren. Co-producing research with multi-disciplinary staff and families, she aim to first identify methods toreliably risk stratify modifiable social risk factors at both the individual patient and composite population levels. Ultimately, she hopes to employ improvement science, qualitative research, and community power initiatives to improve pediatric health outcomes by fostering community partnerships and training healthcare workers to employ health equity based preventative care.
