Emily Highsmith is a clinical pharmacy specialist in the Critical Care and Nutrition Support group at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to this role, she worked in the Acute Cancer Care Center. Originally from California, she completed undergrad at UC Berkeley and her doctorate of pharmacy at the University of the Pacific. She completed her PGY1 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in North Carolina and a Critical Care focused PGY2 at Houston Methodist Hospital. She has been working for MD Anderson since August of 2020. Her practice interests include analgesia/sedation, immunocompromised hosts, and toxicity management from oncologic therapies. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, attending concerts, and doing crossword puzzles.
