C.J. Henrik Olson, PharmD, RPh is a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Resident at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, with a specialization in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care. Through his rigorous training, Henrik has gained extensive experience managing high-acuity patients in MICU, SICU, CVICU, and Emergency Department settings. His role includes decentralized clinical pharmacy responsibilities, code response, medication optimization, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Henrik’s clinical interests lie in advancing critical care pharmacy practice, particularly in perioperative hemostasis, emergency medicine, and ICU-based interventions. His team’s recent research on optimizing perioperative hemostasis was accepted for presentation at the 2025 Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Congress, showcasing his team's commitment to evidence-based care and quality improvement initiatives.
During his PGY1 residency, Henrik completed rotations across diverse areas, including solid organ transplant, intermediate care, cardiology, and medical-surgical units, preparing him to excel in acute care settings. His dedication to teaching and mentorship is reflected in his completion of a teaching certificate program and his ongoing experience precepting pharmacy students and residents.
Henrik is passionate about driving clinical pharmacy innovation, improving protocols in critical care settings, and fostering collaboration across disciplines. He actively contributes to the development of pharmacy practice through research, education, and process improvements that enhance patient care.
