Krista Wahby, Pharm.D., BCCCP is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Medical/Neurosurgial ICU at Harper University Hospital/Hutzel Women’s Hospital, Detroit Medical Center and the PGY2 Residency Director for the Detroit Receiving Hospital's Critical Care Residency program. Dr. Wahby is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care Medicine at Harper University Hospital/Hutzel Women’s Hospital and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Wayne State University/ Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy. Dr. Wahby is a Wayne State University graduate and went on to receive her Pharm D. from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Pharmacy, and a residency at Harper University Hospital. Dr. Wahby has worked in the medical intensive care units at Harper Hospital for 25 years. She has worked many research studies and served as a Study Coordinator at Wayne State University, and in this role, she served as the study coordinator for the Chief of Medicine for two national ARDS Studies. She was the Co-PI for the international Scarlet Trial, and received the Research Citation Award from SCCM for her study assessing Fondaparinux in critically ill patients with kidney failure. Dr. Wahby has been responsible for the development and implementation of many pathways and protocols used in the care of the critically ill, including the Harper Hospital Intravenous Insulin Nomogram and the Heparin Dosing in Hypothermia Post-Cardia Arrest Nomogram. Dr. Wahby has a strong interest in anticoagulation, post-cardiac arrest care, opioid tolerance in the ICU and septic shock.
