Jake Qurashi, BS, RN, CFRN, C-NPT, is a fourth-year MD/MPH student at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and UT Health Science Center in Houston and graduate student in the Geographic Information Systems program at Johns Hopkins, applying into pediatrics with aspirations of pursuing a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine. Jake brings a decade of experience as a nurse in pediatric critical care settings, including the PICU, CICU, rapid response teams, ECMO, and transport, showcasing his profound commitment to providing high-level care to the most vulnerable patients.
In his current studies, Jake combines his medical education with public health and , focusing on policy initiatives aimed at improving access to care. His public health work complements his clinical pursuits by addressing systemic challenges in the healthcare system, aiming to enhance outcomes for pediatric patients across various care environments.
Jake's career is marked by a strong dedication to clinical excellence and public advocacy. He actively engages in research that explores ways to refine pre-hospital care protocols for pediatric patients, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment during critical transport. Beyond the hospital, Jake is dedicated to community service, providing essential first aid training and health education to underserved areas, underscoring his holistic approach to medicine and public health. He is actively working on a bill to improve regulatory barriers to interstate interfacility transport.
