Catherine Brown attends the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She is a senior in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Pittsburgh where she works as a research assistant on Dr. Salah Al-Zaiti’s PhD, RN, ANP-BC, FAHA team with the R01 funded study, ECG Detection of Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Events – Two (ECG-SMART-2). This interdisciplinary research team invites undergraduate and graduate students to pursue research questions around recommendations and timely interventions for acute coronary syndrome. Catherine has a special interest in caring for adult critical care cardiology patients. As part of her research work, she has been admitted to the University of Pittsburgh David C. Frederick Honors College where she will defend her work in 2025 to graduate with honors and a Bachelor of Philosophy in Nursing, in addition to her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Catherine is currently applying for adult critical care nurse residency positions in the Charleston, South Carolina area.
