My name is Chelsea Szaniszlo, BSN, RN and I am the Sepsis Coordinator at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. I spent most of my career working in the emergency department as a bedside nurse before moving into my current role in 2020. Prior to becoming the sepsis coordinator, I was always fascinated with the etiology of sepsis, how this affects our patients, and what is the best way to treat this condition. In this role I have been able to immerse myself in learning all that I can to help educate the multidisciplinary teams on how we can best help our patients when affected by sepsis. As part of the Sepsis Task Force, I committed to improving our SEP1 measures, decreasing mortality and improving patient outcomes.
