Mr. Carpenter has 20 years’ experience as a PA having worked in pediatric GI, adult GI, liver transplant surgery and surgical intensive care. He currently works in the Emory University Hospital Transplant/Surgery ICU where he works as a PA intensivist and co-director of Quality and Patient Safety for the Emory Critical Care Center.
Mr. Carpenter is Past President of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and Gastroenterology PAs. He has served on multiple committees in SCCM including past chair of the Billing and Coding Committee and past chair of the APP committee. He was a founding member of the Coding and Billing KEG and is a member of the Glycemic Control Committee.
In addition to his master’s in physician assistant studies, Mr. Carpenter has a Juris Masters from Emory Law in Healthcare and Compliance Law. He lectures on critical care billing as well as APP utilization in the ICU.
