Nibras Bughrara, MD, FCCM, FASA, is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery and the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Anesthesiology at Albany Medical College. He completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and perioperative echocardiography training at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Bughrara is the Division Chief of Anesthesia Critical Care and the founder and director of the Critical Care Echocardiography Program at Albany Medical College. He is the principal investigator of several multi-center studies, including those focused on integrating focused transthoracic echocardiography training into anesthesiology residency and fellowship programs, as well as on the application of focused echocardiographic evaluation in life support for in-hospital cardiac arrest and septic shock patients.
