Deepa Malaiyandi, MD, FNCS, is a Neurointensivist at Trinity Health Ann Arbor, MI and a community affiliated faculty with the University of Toledo COMLS, Department of Neurology where she was previously a Tenured Associate Professor of Neurology, the Founding Division Director of Neurocritical Care, Director for the longitudinal integrated undergraduate medical ethics curriculum for M1-M3. She has also served as an Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she also served as the Interim Director of the Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit at UPMC Altoona Hospital and priot to that as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Malaiyandi has been a member of the Neurocritical Care Society's ENLS Simulation Subcommitte, Founding Chair of INCC (Inclusion in Neurocritical Care Committee), as well as the Society of Critical Care's Simulation Education Subcomittee of the Research Section and the Adult Critical Care Physicians Core Knowledge and Skills Task Force. She developed and interest in high-fidelity simulation-based training for Neurocritical Care Concepts for Multi-disciplinary critical care providers in Fellowship and the University of Pittsburgh, and continued to use various simulation methodologies for medical student, resident, and fellow education.
