Jennifer Catlin, MD, MPH, is a trauma surgeon and surgical intensivist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. She obtained her Bachelor's of FIne Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University before pursuing her medical education, obtaining a combined MD, MPH, from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She then returned to Virginia to complete General Surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, and fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery, practicing as a trauma surgeon, emergency general surgeon, and surgical intensivist, with academic interests including palliative and end of life care, substance use disorders, patient-physician communication, health equity, and post-ICU outcomes.
