Although the RRT is a multidisciplinary team, and having a physician-led teams provide certain benefits, however, with the advanced training, a non-physician-led team can provide same benefits and outcomes (REF PMID 36360463). Ms. Conklin is the first Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT) of the country. She provides intubations for patients when they deteriorate. Thus she is more than qualified to discuss about the evidence that an RRT does not need to have a physician on board.
