University of Missouri-Kansas City
My name is Prashanth Anamthathmakula. I am a Research Scientist in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). I have obtained my Ph.D in Biochemistry from India. Currently, my research at UMKC is focussed on utilizing new investigational drugs to treat sepsis and hemorrhagic shock using rodent models. In collaboration with Vivacelle Bio Inc., a clinical stage biotechnology company, I am exploring the efficacy of phospholipid nanoparticle colloid-small molecules for treating severe sepsis by modulating inflammatory factors and signaling pathways. In another collaborative project, we are investigating the reversal of clinical death following hemorrhagic shock through intra-arterial infusion of phospholipid nanoparticle colloids. My long-term goal is to integrate basic science knowledge with clinical relevance to improve patient health.
