Professor Luregn Schlapbach, MD, PhD, FCICM, is Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Neonatology at the University Children`s Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, and Honorary Professor at the Child Health Research Centre at the University of Queensland, Australia. Luregn is group head on the Pediatric Surviving Sepsis Campaign, Co-Chair of the international Paediatric Sepsis Definition Taskforce, and Chair of the ESPNIC Section on Infection, Inflammation and Sepsis. He was the previous Past Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society Paediatric Study Group and has been serving in the steering group of a number of PICU trials.
