Kathleen Drago, MD, FACP is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr Drago joined the OHSU Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics in 2015 to develop and run the Inpatient Geriatrics Program, providing consultative geriatrics care for hospitalized older adults in partnership with medical, surgical and critical care providers. She served as medical director until 2021 when she transitioned to the director of quality for inpatient geriatrics.
Dr Drago’s academic interest is in systems improvement focused on the care of hospitalized older adults. She has worked to improve the care for adults with delirium, standardize safe prescribing practices and enhance the care of older adults with acute fragility fractures. She leads an interprofessional team of experts in expanding OHSU’s Age Friendly Health Systems program and serves as the Medical Director for OHSU’s Episodes of Care value based care program.
