Dr. Brian Appavu is a critical care neurologist at Phoenix Children's, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Child Health and Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. He is board certified in neurocritical care, neonatal neurocritical care, epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, neurosonology, and neurology. Dr. Appavu has carried research funding from the United States Department of Defense, NIH, American Heart Association and Pediatric Epilepsy Research Foundation related to critical care monitoring, status epilepticus, and detection of covert consciousness during critical care. Dr. Appavu's clinical and research interests involve multimodal neuromonitoring and consciousness detection in critical care environments.
