This course will explore controversial, cutting-edge, and timely topics that are directly applicable to the care of critically ill pediatric patients. Updated course content will engage participants in didactic and panel discussions on pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome updates, multiprofessional education in the ICU, immune dysfunction and immunomodulation in the pediatric ICU, the obese child in the ICU, and more.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply current innovations and recent literature to enhance the critical care knowledge skill set in the management of pediatric patients with complex critical illness
  • Actively engage in interactive learning by participating in case presentations, panel discussions, and didactic presentations to exchange knowledge and broaden networks in pediatric critical care
  • Identify best practices to share with colleagues in home institutions and potentially incorporate into institutional care delivery related to pediatric critical care
